Serving Minors According to California State Law
Our shop in Richmond, California, follows specific guidelines for providing services to minors. First and foremost, no one under the age of 18 may be tattooed under any circumstances. If you are under 18 and wish to get a piercing, however, you must be accompanied by a custodial parent or legal guardian. According to California State Law, your parent or guardian must present a valid state or federal photo ID and an original copy of your birth certificate before you can receive service. The following are all acceptable forms of ID:
- State Driver's License
- State ID Card
- Military ID
We reserve the right to provide piercing services at our discretion based on an individual’s comfort levels. To that end, our artists will not pierce any minor under the age of five. If a minor is receiving any piercing other than their ear lobes, they must also present a valid photo ID, such as a school or state ID. To receive an exotic piercing, such as surface anchor, navel, tongue, nipple or genital piercing, the recipient must be at least 18 years of age or older.
